TACOS IN SQUAMISH

Street tacos, pressed
and cooked in Squamish.

Squamish is not a town we drive to. It is where the tortillas are pressed and where every taco is cooked. This page is for people already here: what a Totomoxtle taco is made of, which days the stall is open, and how to get a plate without standing in a line.

What is under the filling

A street taco is small, eaten in two hands, and finished in about four bites. The tortilla under it is corn, nixtamalized and pressed in our own kitchen instead of bought in a bag, and that is the part this family cares about most. What goes on top comes out of a Puebla kitchen and changes with the week, so the board at the stall is the true answer to what is on today. The menu sets out the categories and the two corn drinks that sit beside them.

Which days, and where downtown

We are open Thursday & Friday 11 am–4 pm, Saturday 9 am–2 pm, closed Sunday to Wednesday. On market Saturdays the stall is at Squamish Farmers Market, 37996 Cleveland Avenue at Victoria Street. There is no dining room and no table service: Totomoxtle is one family, a stall and a trailer, which is why you will find us on the avenue rather than behind a door. Find Us has the address, where to leave the car, and the market dates for the season. No market in January or February.

A taco bar for something in town

Squamish weddings, staff lunches, birthdays, film crews parked up for the day and school events all get the same food from the same kitchen, brought to where you are. The trailer cooks on site where there is room for it, and where there is not, the food comes ready to serve. How our catering works, and call 604 389 8926 with a date and a rough headcount.

Order ahead instead of queueing

Saturday mornings on Cleveland Avenue are busy, and that is the whole point of a market. If you would rather not wait, order online through Square, pay there, and collect at the time Square gives you. This website never touches your card, and the collection time is the one Square sets.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions about
tacos in Squamish.

Where can I get tacos in Squamish?

At the Totomoxtle stall in downtown Squamish. On market Saturdays that is Squamish Farmers Market, 37996 Cleveland Avenue at Victoria Street; on other serving days Find Us has the address and our hours.

Are the tacos made on corn tortillas?

Yes. Totomoxtle by La Poblanita presses its tortillas from corn masa in its own kitchen in Squamish, for the stall and for catering alike. The corn kitchen page explains what that does and does not mean if you avoid gluten.

Is Totomoxtle a taco restaurant in Squamish?

No. Totomoxtle by La Poblanita is a family-run street-food business in Squamish with a market stall and a food trailer, not a restaurant with premises to sit in. The tacos are Mexican street food, cooked by a family from Puebla.

Can I book a taco bar for a party in Squamish?

Yes. Totomoxtle by La Poblanita caters weddings, corporate days, private parties, film crews, festivals and school events in Squamish. Call 604 389 8926 with the date, or read how the catering works first.
